  2. Hiii! I think Leo's speech was amazing, especially because he brought the perspective of someone who solves fake problems for a living. However, he telling the audience that climate change is a real problem that needs to be dealt with. The song was lovely, gave me some inspiration. Hope to see you all on Wednesday!

I thought Di Caprios speech was powerful because he used scientific facts to prove his point in front of world delagates. I also liked how he mentioned that he plays fictional characters in movies that solve fictional problems but then goes on saying how his audiance has real problems and they have the chance to solve them.

I thought Leo's speech was excellent. I liked that he started off his speech by stating that he his not a scientist or an expert on the topic. At the same time he acknowledges that you do not have to be an expert on climate change to see that we have a problem. I like that he referred to credible and reliable sources in his speech stating " The chief of the U.S. navy's pacific command...recently said that climate change is our biggest security threat". I also really liked the song it was motivational and inspiring.

  6. Hello Professor Brady! Well first Leonardo DiCaprio on his own without even talking can grab anyone's attention. However, on a more serious note he was able to really connect to many citizens by just being one. Many people only know DiCaprio as an actor, but in this speech he is an individual. His comparison of his job of being an actor to man kinds view of climate change is very powerful. There are many people who will tell you with a straight face that climate change is not real at all.

I thought the speech by Leonardo DiCaprio was great. His overall speaking skills such as vocal variety, eye contact, and body language were perfect. He established his credibility to the audience by mentioning a quote by the chief of the US Navy’s Pacific Command, Samuel Locklear, who said: “climate change is our single greatest security threat”. This quote also gave DiCaprio’s argument that climate change is something that industries and governments must take large-scale action against. After hearing his speech I definitely feel more informed and agree with him that the world governments should make changes to combat this problem.

Hello Professor Brady! To start off I thought Leonardo DiCaprio's speech was very informative. He gave a quick gist of what climate change is doing to the world with credible facts and resources. DiCaprio has a serious tone and is passionate about this world threat. I understood the points he was getting across and his reasoning's were genuine.

Hi! I loved your song for the week. I also thought that Leo's speech was very powerful. He gains immediate attention because of his career as an actor. It's refreshing to see a star who cares about more than just themself.

Hey Professor Brady! I think Leos intro was perfect. Someone like him coming onto a world stage like that doesn't really make sense right away but by using specific word choice he was able to turn his fictitious lifestyle as an actor and turn it around into how society may think of climate change!

  16. Kind of late but I really liked DiCaprio's enthusiasm throughout his speech. I also enjoyed his repeated metaphor of "I am an actor... a play a fictitious role, often solving fictitious problems (like climate change not being considered)".
